Asia Pacific Innovation Conference (APIC) 2019

“Innovation in an Era of Population Aging”

October 10-11, 2019

 

The 10th Asia Pacific Innovation Conference (APIC), which is jointly organized by the School of Economics at Peking University and the Asia Pacific Innovation Network, will be held on October 10-11th, 2019 on the Peking University campus in Beijing, China.

The conference aims to foster an inter-disciplinary exchange of knowledge related to innovation, intellectual property rights, and science and technology policy. Sessions will include contributed papers, keynote presentations and panel discussions. Scholars (including doctoral students) from all disciplines and practitioners interested in the economic, managerial, legal and policy aspects of innovation are all encouraged to submit and/or to attend.

Themes and Topics:

Topics related to the conference theme - “Innovation and Population Aging” - are particularly encouraged. However, we invite submissions on all innovation and IP-related topics, including:

•          Intellectual property (IP) protection for innovation

•          Intellectual property rights (IPR) law and economics

•          Entrepreneurship and startups

•          Standards, and patent pools

•          Management of technology and market for technology

•          Artificial intelligence (AI) and health care innovation

•          International IP in pharmaceutical products and medical devices

•          University research, technology transfer, and university-industry collaborations

•          Inventor mobility and knowledge flows

•          Team Science

•          Work force and gender in science

•          Open access in science

•          Spillover, externality and public policy

•          National innovation performance

•          International trade agreements and IP

 

All forms of IP are relevant, whether patents, copyrights, trademarks, plant breeding rights, geographical indications, design rights, trade secrets or others.

 

Submission and Registration:

Full papers or extended abstracts may be submitted no later than August 1, 2019 via email to conference@econ.pku.edu.cn. Preference will be given to full paper submissions. All submissions will be peer-reviewed, and decision will be announced by August 15, 2019.

Papers will be reviewed by the conference's scientific committee on an ongoing basis. If you need to apply for a visa to enter China, please submit papers and register before July 1st, so we can send you the visa support materials in time.

The presenting authors must register by September 1, 2019 to be accommodated in the conference program.
